Welcoming back our rambunctious rainbow Pride foil

Guess who's back, back again?!

We know you’ve been patiently waiting for our rapturous rainbow foil to be back in stock, so we’re extremely excited to announce that The Pride collection is now available through our website or your favourite distributor!

A retro and rambunctious foil, The Pride features the rainbow colours of the Pride flag - inspired by Pride Month (June). This collection was specifically designed to pay homage to the LGBTIQ+ community and to celebrate love, equality and difference with the 'kissing rainbow' design.

At Foil Me it’s important to us to combine innovation and a philanthropic ethos to give back. This is why $1.00 from the sale of every box will be donated to assist The Equality Project an Australian charity bringing together LGBTIQ+ people and allies to promote a better, more just, and fairer society for all Australians. THE HISTORY OF PRIDE MONTH

Initially celebrated on the last Sunday of June, it was originally known as "Gay Pride Day". The event quickly grew to becoming an annual month-long series of events celebrated through the sixth month of the year.

Some of the celebrations include pride parades, picnics, parties, workshops and concerts. LGBTIQ+ Pride Month events attract millions of people worldwide.

In Australia, Sydney, Mardia Gras is one of the biggest dates in LGBTIQ+ community, attracting thousands of people!

Sydney Mardi Gras originated as a gay rights parade in 1978 following the Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan, USA. This was a significant tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement.

The Sydney even is now celebrated every year from mid-February to early March, as the city streets show their pride!

THE EQUALITY PROJECT

Foil Me will be donating $1.00 AUD from every foil packet sold from The Pride collection to the LGBTIQ+ charity, The Equality Project (@equalityproj_au) - an Australian charity bringing together LGBTIQ+ people and allies to promote a better, more just, and fairer society for all Australians.

The Equality Project's mission is to create spaces for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex and Queer communities, organisations, advocates and allies to work together, build bridges, and speak with a common voice, through national and regional conferences and training events.

"THE RAINBOW EMBRACE"

The colourful design of this collection pays homage to the Pride flag of the LQBTIQ+ community by illustrating rainbows with the same colours of the pride flag. Symbolically this is what the colours of the flag mean for the LGBTIQ+ community:

RED - Life

ORANGE - Healing

YELLOW - Sunlight; be yourself instead of hiding in the shadows.

GREEN - Nature

BLUE - Serenity

PURPLE - Spirit

We could have just designed a flag using the Pride colours, but we wanted to say more and honour the Pride colours so we adopted the rainbow - an image that not only symbolises joy, radiance and optimism, but also difference in the fact that it is inclusive of many distinct colours.

After choosing the rainbows, we then wanted to denote LOVE because no matter what race, colour, gender, national origin, age, religion, faith, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression a person identifies with, all we need is LOVE, right? So we placed two rainbows to signify touching or “kissing” on a white background - which symbolises peace, so the embracing rainbows feel at ease and at peace to express their love for one another.

Further more, you'll find that in each size, each image is different - concreting the message that it's more than okay to be unique - it is celebrated!

So, ideally, we wanted the foil as a whole to celebrate love, equality, difference and freedom to express oneself. Now, more than ever, we believe this foil will strongly resonate with many of our Foil Me movers, uniting us all across the globe. We want to not only bring joy to our Foil Me movers’ hearts, but optimism and unity too – after all, rainbows are formed while it is raining, yet the sun is still shining.
